Vol. 1, interior hinge split at copyright pg., leaving front board somewhat loose but still well-attached; smudging/staining to front flyleaves & faint water-stain along lower margin of approx. first 25 pgs., light moisture-rippling to final 50 pgs. or so; sm nicks or crinkling to some pg. edges, light foxing to tissue protecting some plates, not affecting plates themselves. Vols. 2 & 3, occasional interior foxing, quite mild, bindings tight; Vol. 2, 1/2" chip to edge of first 2 pgs., not affecting plate. Vol. 1, 228 pp. + 7 pp. of motifs & ornaments + fold-out map in rear; incls. 21 color plates, 3 water-colors & numerous b&w illus. w/in the text; Vols. 2 & 3 consist of 120 total pasted-down color plates in album format, lacking plates noted above.
